This year at LHS, we have three new teachers and, one of them is David Ott. David has been teaching for three years. David and his wife have two children, Abigail and Josiah. He also has five Bichon Frise dogs. Before he started teaching here, he also taught at Pierce County High School, Chapmanville Middle, and Logan Middle. The subjects you might have him for are science and math. He attended Weir High School and went to college at West Liberty University.
Mr. Ott seems to really enjoy teaching here. He told us, “This is an amazing school, full of incredible students. It’s a privilege to be part of this.” He also told us why he got into this profession; he said “I wanted to be able to help someone in a significant way.” He also says his real world experience, personal discipline, and his own enthusiastic outlook on the amazing life that he has are his greatest strengths. For this year, he expects every one of his students to make AYP.
During his free time, Mr. Ott likes to ride Big Rosy, his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He says, “Roll on Big Rosy.” Some of his interests are motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. Before teaching, he was an Air Borne Infantry Officer in the U.S Army and a crane operator in a steel mill.
