Quote of the Day

“I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who’s ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.” from THE NOTEBOOK said by Noah who is played by James Garner

New Moon is the sequel to the 2008 worldwide movie phenomenon Twilight. Most of the cast of Twilight has come back to reprise their roles. New members to the cast include Micheal Sheen, Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Graham Greene, Jamie Campbell Bower, Christopher Heyendahl. New Moon tells the story of  Bella Swan who is dealing with the seperation and depression when her vamprie lover leaves her. Bella turns to her childhood friend Jacob Black for relief from her pain. New Moon takes us into a whole new perspective of the Twilight world. New Moon also has many shocks and surprises that audiences will enjoy. I give New Moon, 8.5/10.

Movie Reveiw: Zombieland

Zombieland is about a group of people trying to survive in a world over run with zombies. The movie is scary but is a ton of laughs and will become a beloved movie for many years to come. The movie’s cast is one of the greatest, with the  funniest and craziest ways of performing the things they did. In my opinion it is the funniest movie this year. Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenburg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin are the greatest actors of our age. I give Zombieland a 10/10 stars.

Victory Over Hunger Campaign

One of the many projects that the Logan High School Prayer Club is involved in accomplishing for the welfare of the school’s student body is the Victory Over Hunger Campaign. The thrid annual Victory Over Hunger Campaign will officially begin on Saturday, October 3, at the Logan Wal-Mart. The Victory Over Hunger Campaign is a multi-effort to relief hunger in the Logan County by gathering food items and monetary gifts for the Christmas holiday season. The Logan Wal-Mart, along with Chapmanville  Regional, Logan High, Logan Middle, Logan Grade, and Man High Prayer Clubs are joining forces to assist the less fortunate families in our area.  Each Saturday in October at the Logan Wal-Mart, members of the local prayer clubs will be asking for your help. The public can buy boxed or canned food or make a donation to the prayer club students that will be standing at the doors of the business. The goal of the countywide crusade is $10,000.00. The prayer club members will also be asking football fans to pitch in to this worthy cause at the local Friday night games. The funding for this project is combined with donations from local businesses, individuals, and churches. A gigantic Christmas program is presented on the second sunday in December at the Logan Middle School Gym. One-hundred and fifty Logan County low-income families with children are invited to enjoy the gifts of food, hygiene, products, blankets, clothing, toys, fruit, stockings, gift cards,Christmas cards, and Bibles that are distributed on that date. individuals,  businesses, clubs, and organizations that are interested in making a donation to this benevolent county task may contact John E. Godby, advisor to the Logan High School Prayer Club  at  (304) 752-6606 or (304) 752-7774, or you may send monetary gifts to the Logan High School Prayer Club, One Wildcat Way, Logan, WV 25601. Mr Godby is the chairperson of this joint effort. He said, “Hunger is an unforunate part of our society. By collaborating with high schools of our county, much more can be done to conqueror this social problem. I am thankful to be unified with our fellow prayer clubs and the Logan Wal-Mart associates. We can truly bring ‘good will toward men’ by participating in the Victory Over Hunger Campaign for the under priviledge folks of Logan county. Won’t you join us?”

Movie Reveiw: Sorority Row

Sorority Row, a remake of  the 1983 movie The House on Sorority Row.  Briana Evigan is the lead actress in this movie; She plays Cassidy Tappan. The movie is about a group of  sorority girls who accidentally kill their friend when a prank goes wrong.  Later they believe that their friend has returned from the dead to seek revenge. The movie is a classic slasher film with a few moments of comedy. The movie in my opinion was good but could have been done a little bit better. There were very few scary scenes.  I give this Movie an 8 out of 10.
